Growing the organisational capabilities to deliver excellent results

The company

THINK. PLAN. CONSULT. DO. LEARN- WORKSHOP FOR CHANGE

..

Decision Game Scenarios train teams to work together and prepare for dealing with real world risks. The objectives are to rehearse the process with doers and then reflect on the exercise to improve the on the job performance.

Organisational teams are facilitated to be innovative, solve complex problems and prepare for operations. Working through a pre prepared risk scenario on paper before operations with the on and offshore teams allows for a thorough review of operations practice and reality checking. We make a drama out of a risk and act out the crisis with people in jobs they perform. People learn about need for change interdependency, communication and how personal behaviours and attitudes impact on delivery of excellence.

Risk Management

Morrison associates ltd will prepare and run separate one or two day workshops to deliver Right Scoping process and technical limit performance improvements which changes performance on the job.

We work within organisations to clarify accountabilities, plan, schedule, understand risks, value positive behaviours and communicate across functions. Processes can be accelerated and results delivered slicker, quicker, safer and cheaper when teams are in alignment and have clear goals. We make processes work for people, clarify value adding communication. We always are looking to simplify to apply lean thinking solutions, which are tailored to fit each organisation

Organisational Capability

We support organizations to resource an optimum blend of outside advisors and an internal team to manage a change project. Our aim is to create a combination of intelligent people with an understanding of the business and its processes allied to specialists with up to date knowledge who can deliver exceptional results.

..
Projects are benchmarked using a traffic lights system to assess how we are doing. During work reviews and interfaces key areas of action are identified and then worked on to continuously improve performance. The introduction of new technology changes the way we work. During complex projects communication between all levels of the organisation requires management. .

Use is made of Planning, Finance, Maintenance, Supply chain and integrated IT & IM systems. All have interfaces and interdependency across functions and management areas. Planning and scheduling is critical to delivery once the projects statement of requirements is defined.

People who often work in remote areas and need to communicate using these tools manage these systems. We assist in the design of information needs and look to simplify reporting processes and standardise whenever possible to reduce costs and eliminate duplication of effort .

Making Interventions

Projects have phases where interventions can be made to adjust the course of the events. Examples include Right Scoping the project, Project Initiation meeting and setting the Technical Limit of performance, the best we can ever achieve is our goal.

Right Scoping: involves the project sponsor and main contractors in defining the strategic objectives of the project and setting the more detailed technical objectives against which the project performance will be judged

Project Initiation Meeting: starts the project and is typically an opportunity to define accountabilities and deliveries, develop the Work Breakdown Structure, present the high level schedule to the wider project team (consortium), and engage in team building activities.

Technical Limit: involves the project team looking at the detailed schedule of activities, identifying the critical path activities and the activities which can be carried out as a simultaneous operation – the technical limit represents the perfect operation with no waste, this is top quartile performance and beyond. This specialist meeting is designed to deliver 20-30 % improvement in costs and time for Projects.

..
The methodology breaks the project down into separate phases with “gates” between the phases to allow performance evaluation by the project sponsor and to allow the financial sponsor to release appropriate funds for the project to continue forward, this will form part of the necessary Assurance process, which the sponsor and consortium head will require.
